Primeval Soup Book Cover
In preparation for the release of my next book I have had a Cover designed. This is the latest design for the cover. The idea is that it is supposed to be a bamboo matting with reminders attached. I think it is good, but I am slightly biased and I would dearly appreciate some feedback on this please. Thank you in advance for any comments or opinions.

Hi Michael, I really like the cover and think you will do well with it as is. Just a few things that came to mind were: I got the concept of the bulletin board right away but found myself looking for another red thumbtack holding up the photo. Also, if it's possible, can the post-it note and photograph be curled slightly (with a shadow under) showing a little more depth? The thumbtack shadow works well with shadowing in that way. Lastly, I have a hard time reading your name. Maybe consider outlining the white font with a subtle black line to make it pop or adding another pinned piece of paper to the board (ripped piece of white paper maybe?). Just some thoughts, best of luck with your book.

ReplyDeleteNot a bad concept overall. I'm an indie author, too. So, I can relate to your trials and tribulations. The only thing that I would suggest for consideration is changing the color of your by-line. Your name is getting lost in the bamboo. Best of luck out there in cyberspace.
